Business Manager

Mary Jean is responsible for the financial and marketing areas of the hospital, computer software purchase and implementation, website design and maintenance, hospital protocols, safety program implementation, and employee management.

Mary Jean is a graduate of Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI with a B.S. degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. She worked as registered Medical Technologist from 1974 until coming to Iron Mountain Animal Hospital in 2001. While Dr. Nicolas was finishing veterinary school, she worked for the American Red Cross blood processing center in Lansing, MI. After their move back to Iron Mountain, she worked for Medical Park Services, Dr. Batti/Mitchell laboratory, and Dickinson County Healthcare System.

Mary Jean is the wife of Dr. Jim Nicolas, practice owner of Iron Mountain Animal Hospital. Dr. Jim and Mary Jean have a son Andy who resides in Iowa, a daughter Jenna who resides in Iron Mountain, and a granddaughter, Adisson. They are also owner of their 13 year old English Setter, Nikki.
